America's Furniture Store closes with eviction

As we reported last week, America's Furniture Store on Ming Avenue is no more. the store suddenly closed up shop, the building is now empty.

Eyewitness news has learned an eviction process started in mid July because the man running the store, Juan Rios, was three months behind on rent.

A Bakersfield Property management company says Rios owes $12 - $13,000 dollars in back rent.

The company says Rios told them before leaving he will pay the rent but he feared for his family's safety and was moving out of state.

Rios is still scheduled for court appearances next week, facing thirteen felony counts of business fraud.

As we have now for over two years, we'll let you know what happens next.
