An update now to an investigation we brought you about a karate school that went out of business, leaving it's students high and dry.

The Shaolin Kenpo Karate School, also known as Family Self Defense Center, closed it's doors July 7th. In a letter sent to parents, Owner James Riley cited financial problems for the closure. We spoke with several parents who had just paid tuition for the school, some who paid just days before the school closed.

Since we aired our story earlier this month we have received numerous calls from local business owners looking to help the students. We have received an email from another karate school, the Order of the Dragon, who says they'll honor all contracts made with the Shaolin school at no extra cost, plus an additional month free. The Order of the Dragon will even honor the students existing belt ranks so they don't have to start over. If you or your child was a student of the Family Self Defense Centers and have your receipt call the Order of the Dragon at 588-3217 for more details.

Eyewitness News has called the James Riley, the owner of Family Self Defense Centers, several times and we still have not heard back.
