Staying fit at work: News anchors use treadmills

GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) — After airing a story about a new trend of some people walking at their desk using a special treadmill, news station WHNS was contacted by a retailer who sells the treadmill desk.

FOX Carolina evening anchors Cody Alcorn and Diana Watson then read the news during a portion of 10 p.m. news Tuesday while walking and jogging on the treadmills.

Treadmill Warehouse in Spartanburg, S.C., brought two models of its desks to the news station demonstrate how they work and how people can use them to stay fit and efficient at work.

The different models offer varying options, including a desk that will rise and lower depending on the person's height and how long they can be used throughout the work day.

"Recently there has been a trend in offices to stand up at work stations," said Treadmill Warehouse owner Bob McKenna. "It's healthier, you're moving a little bit more, especially on the phone you're more lively."
