BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Kern County Public Health Services and AT&T announced a mobile device application Wednesday that allows users to view restaurant health reports.
The custom-built app includes information on more than 1,800 restaurants tin Kern County, according to a joint news release. Users can view restaurant locations and health inspection reports, and they can file a complaint form with the option of uploading a picture or video.

- Map-based listing of all matching restaurants with satellite view
- Inspection grade and details of specific violations
- Submit a complaint and include a video or picture
"I know a lot of times, people struggle with where to go eat, so it can serve as a good restaurant locator," said Kern County Chief Environmental Health Specialist Donna Fenton. ". But, they can also search by whether (the restaurant) got an A, or whether they got a B, and so that can help them make a more informed choice.
"... a user has the right to have that information," Fenton added.
