Local men, woman wanted for big cancer study

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The AIS Cancer Center at San Joaquin Community Hospital will participate in a major cancer study.

The hospital will be a test site for the American Cancer Society's Cancer Prevention Study-3.

Men and women between the ages of 30 and 65, who have never been diagnosed with cancer are invited to participate in the study. Sign-ups will be taken until 7 p.m. Thursday.

"CPS-3 is a grassroots effort where local communities from across the country can support cancer research not just through fundraising efforts, but also by participating actively in this historic research study," SJCH said in a news release.
