BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Campout Against Cancer will have an Extreme Challenge Competition, featuring a three-story rock wall, 30-foot zero-drop free fall and 200-foot zip line.

The April event is part of the Kern County Cancer Fund and is designed to provide financial support for local residents who have cancer.

"We are very thankful to our donors for bringing this idea to our planning committee as a way to increase community participation at no cost to the Kern Community Cancer Fund," Steering Committee Chair Sheryl Gallion said in a news release. "With this being our inaugural Campout Against Cancer event we recognize that it's important to not only encourage team registration and participation, but also to increase awareness about the event to hopefully entice the community to come  back next year."

Campout Against Cancer is April 4 and 5 at the State Farm Sports Village.
