Drug Take-Back Day coming up April 26

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Sheriff's Office will partner with the Drug Enforcement Administration this weekend for the Nationwide Drug Take-Back Day.

This allows the public to surrender expired, unwanted or unused pharmaceutical drugs to officers for destruction. Only pills, tablets and capsules will be accepted - no injectables or syringes. Illegal drugs also won't be accepted.

Collections will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the following sheriff's locations:

- Sheriff's Office Headquarters Facility,1350 Norris Road, Bakersfield
- Buttonwillow Substation, 181 E. First St.
- Delano Substation, 455 Lexington St.
- Frazier Park Market, 632 Laguna Trail
- Kern Valley Substation, 7046 Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella
- Wasco Substation, 748 F St.

Tehachapi police will also participate, collecting at its department at the corner of South Robinson and East F streets.
