Boy raises $750,000 to help sick friend

A 7-year-old Los Angeles boy has raised $750,000 over the past year to help his best friend who's battling a rare life-threatening liver disease.

Dylan Siegel told his mom he wanted to write a book to raise money to find a cure for his sick friend, Jonah Pournazarian.

Jonah has Glycogen Storage Disease Type 1b, a disease that affects one in a million people.

The result was “Chocolate Bar, The Book.” For Dylan, chocolate was more than just sweet, it was code for “awesome.” Jonah's family said every cent raised by the book goes to medical research to find a cure for GSD.

Dylan told a Los Angeles television station that he wants to raise $1 million, and he appears to be well on his way to reaching his goal.
