Bakersfield cancer center offers free mammograms

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center is offering a limited number of free mammograms to women in need.

The free exams will be given Oct. 29 and Nov. 2.

CBCC will approve the women ahead of time. Women receiving the free mammograms must:
 

  • Live in Kern County
  • Have no health insurance or have health insurance with a co-payment or deductible they cannot afford
  • Have low family income
  • Be 40 and above, unless they have a symptom requiring a mammogram (i.e. breast lump or change in the size or shape of breast) or come by recommendation from a primary care physician
