"Glee" fans are still recovering from the death of 31-year-old Cory Monteith, but the troubled actor has one final role to showcase his talent. "McCanick," in which Monteith plays a drug addict, is slated to premiere at the Toronto Film Festival in September.
Monteith's last screen appearance is chilling in retrospect; the actor, who was found dead in a hotel room, died of a combination of alcohol and heroin use. He had previously noted in interviews that he'd struggled with substance abuse, and had sought treatment multiple times.
Little information has been leaked about "McCanick," but this publicity still, coupled with a dark, trailer for the film, is enough to reveal that Monteith's final role seems eerily prophetic.
Monteith's girlfriend and "Glee" co-star, Lea Michelle, tearfully spoke about the actor at Sunday's Teen Choice awards.
"He was very special to me and also to the world," Michelle told fans, "and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. "
