World Ag Expo a week away; 1,500 exhibitors expected

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The 47th annual World Ag Expo is next week in Tulare County.

Organizers tout it as the "largest annual agricultural exposition of its kind," with 1,500 exhibitors on 2.6 million square feet of show grounds at the International Agri-Center, just off Highway 99 on the southern edge of the city of Tulare.

The expo will run Feb. 11-13. General admission at the gate will be $15, but advance tickets are $5 less with the coupon code "WAE2014."

Seminars will be offered in beef, dairy, hay and forage, international trade, irrigation and general agriculture categories. Roughly 100,000 people from 70 countries are expected to attend, according to organizers.
