Spokesman Barry Zoeller said there will be anywhere from 1,000 to 1,500 jobs coming to Kern County because of the shopping center, scheduled for an August grand opening.

“That's most important, the type of economic impact it has on the people of Kern County and their families,” said Zoeller.

The Outlets have also partnered with local nonprofits - American Red Cross, Boys and Girls Clubs, CASA, Junior League, Painted Turtle and Links for Life - for a private shopping event the night before the general opening.

Tickets for the VIP shopping event, the night of Aug. 6, are $25. Tickets for the VIP shopping event can be purchased from any of the participating nonprofits.

"We are going to raise up to $100,000 (for the nonprofits). If you want to be the first person to go inside Coach, if you want to be the first person to go inside Michael Kors, if you want to be the first person to go inside to go inside H&M, you’ll want to be here,” said Zoeller.

Zoeller also said The Outlets will be a big benefit to Kern County tax revenue.

"And (tax revenue) benefits everyone, because the county can use that for a variety of different reasons from transportation to Kern Medical Center to education to roads. Everyone will benefit from what happens here at The Outlets of Tejon,” said Zoeller.
