BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Jersey Mike's Subs is giving the whole enchilada, or, more appropriately, sandwich to charity.

The restaurant chain is donating 100 percent of its sales Wednesday, teaming with 86 local charities for the culmination of the company's third annual March Month of Giving fundraising campaign. Last year's Month of Giving raised nearly $858,000 for 74 charities nationwide, the company said.

Each market has a different partner charity. Customers have been able to donate all month to partner charities at Jersey Mike's locations. Wednesday marks the company's turn to give.

Donations from both Bakersfield locations - 5120 Stockdale Highway and 4715 Coffee Road - go to Lauren Small Children's Medical Center at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. Full list of partner charities >>

"Think about how medical technology changes every day," said Lourdes Nilon, manager of the Children's Miracle Network program at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital. "To remain a premier children's medical center, we have to keep up, and so that requires buying equipment, and we couldn't do it without our communities."
