BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A hit-and-run driver injured a city worker Monday night in an area undergoing roadwork.
The worker, whose name was withheld, was prepping for road paving in the area of Truxtun Avenue and Coffee Road when he was struck by a car in the northbound No. 2 lane of Coffee Road.
Police said the driver and a witness both pulled over. The driver asked the road worker how he was doing and then ran to her car and drove away, police said.
The driver was described as a white or Hispanic woman in her 50s who was driving a dark-colored sedan.
The road worker suffered minor to moderate injuries, police said.
