BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (AP) — Three Bakersfield High School students have been arrested in connection with three small explosions on the school's campus this week.

Police spokeswoman Michaela Beard said the 15 and 16-year-olds were taken into custody on Wednesday on suspicion of possessing a destructive device and other alleged crimes.

They have not been identified because they are juveniles.

School officials have described the devices that exploded on Monday as bottles filled with water and a common household chemical and say the incidents were likely part of a prank.

No one was injured and no structures were damaged, though the school was placed on lockdown.
