Brothers suspected in Lamont stabbing death

LAMONT, Calif. -- Authorities are looking for two brothers suspected of murdering an 18-year-old man.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office released a wanted poster Monday of the suspects, 17-year-old Manuel Catalan and 20-year-old Eddie Catalan. Another teenager, whose name was withheld, was arrested on suspicion of committing murder, conspiracy and assault with a deadly weapon shortly after the Oct. 22 stabbing. The victim, Paul Bernardo Maytorena, of Brawley, appeared to have been stabbed and beaten, according to the sheriff's office. The investigation revealed that the altercation occurred on 10400 block of San Emidio Street in Lamont. A motive hasn't been announced.
