TAFT, Calif. -- An 18-year-old man has been transported back to Kern County after his arrest on suspicion of child molestation.

A 12-year-old girl came forward in July to tell the Kern County Sheriff's Office that her neighbor on the 500 block of Rose Avenue was molesting her. The suspect, Adrian Perez, shortly thereafter ran away, according to a sheriff's office news release issued Tuesday.

Deputies received information earlier this month that Perez was living in Ceres, which is near Modesto. He was located and arrested Oct. 16 and returned to Kern County for prosecution.
