Swimmer drowns near Lake Isabella

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A swimmer has drowned near the Tillie Creek Campground near Lake Isabella.

The swimmer disappeared beneath the water Friday afternoon.

Officers say a group of people were at the campground and two people went into the water. Search and rescue officials say both began struggling in the water, but one was able to make it back to shore.

The second man didn't make it out of the water, and officials recovered his body, which was trapped underwater.

Officials say the victim is in his mid 20s.
