Kernville man dies after stabbing in child-custody dispute
A Kernville man died Monday night after allegedly being stabbed during a child-custody dispute.

Brian Scott Sarver, 32, was airlifted to Kern Medical Center and died in the operating room, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

The fight broke out at a home on the 200 block of Bodfish Canyon Road in Bodfish. Crystal Lee Parker, 29, lives at the home and had armed herself with a large knife after people arrived because of the child-custody dispute, according to the sheriff's office.

Parker was arrested on suspicion of murder and assault.

Another woman, Tanessa Mendoza, suffered minor stab wounds to her arm. She was transported by a private vehicle to Kern Valley Hospital but fled prior to being treated.

Details of the custody dispute weren't disclosed.
