Marines return from African mission

Marine Corps reservists returned Friday to Bakersfield after a 10 month deployment to the Horn of Africa.
The 38 reservists - members of the Bakersfield Marine Corps Reserve Center, Detachment 2, Bulk Fuel Company A, 6th Engineer Support Battalion - returned from Djibouti, Africa, where they worked in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Their mission was to provide security at a base in Africa, which is a region they said has been an unstable hot spot for terrorist activities. |
