Guards quell Tehachapi Prison fight
By BakersfieldNow.com Staff
Tehachapi Prison is on lockdown following a fight Thursday night among 180 minimum-security inmates.
Six prisoners needed medical care, but only one remained hospitalized on Friday, officials said. Two staff members received minor injuries but weren't hospitalized. The cause of the fight, which erupted about 7:15 p.m. between members of rival gangs, has not been disclosed. Guards used pepper spray, non-lethal projectiles and expandable batons to quell the disturbance, they said. |
