2 arrested in Arvin accused of ID theft

ARVIN, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) -- A search warrant served by Arvin police Friday morning turned up Social Security cards, credit cards and other personal identifying information belonging to more than 29 people. Those items along with some reported stolen property led to the arrests of  a woman and a teenager on suspicion of identity theft.

Some of the stolen items found in the Verde Court home have been connected to police reports according to a department news release. The department is working to identify other victims.

Among the items seized by investigators were permanent resident cards and birth certificates.

Police identified the woman arrested as 40-year-old Rosalinda Baeza. The 17-year-old girl taken into custody was not identified.

Baeza remains jailed in lieu of $340,000 bail on allegations that include participating in a criminal street gang. She's scheduled to appear in court Tue. in the South Division of Kern County Superior Court which serves the Arvin/Lamont area.
