Investigation Follow Up: Former Galloway employee awarded back pay

Investigation Follow Up: Former Galloway employee awarded back pay

By Gloria Bratton

There is an update to an exclusive Eyewitness News Investigation concerning a Bakersfield based Catholic Online business. The owner of the business is Michael Galloway. He is at the center of a Kern County District Attorney complaint alleging "Catholic Financial Services" and three other websites operated by Galloway defrauded Catholic non profit groups across the country and in Canada out of thousands of dollars in donations.

Friday, the State Department of Industrial Relations ruled in favor of former employee Mark Lombard for over $41,000. The money from work done last year included back wages, expenses, health insurance and $16,000 in penalties.

Lombard claims he's owed $95,000, but a portion of his work was done from out of his home, out of state and not covered in California. Galloway can appeal the decision.

Over the course of our investigation, he has avoided our cameras and has not commented.
