BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - "Transformers: Age of Extinction" easily destroyed the competition at the box office in its opening weekend, earning more than $100 million.

The transforming cars tend to be a big draw for viewers, as they could, conceivably, see their own model cars turn into giant robots.

General Motors has teamed with the "Transformers" franchise, providing the majority of the vehicles that go from cars and trucks to fighting robots.

On Tuesday, representatives from GM joined Eyewitness News Mornings to talk about the move and the carmaker's involvement.

They also discussed the recent string of recalls.
