BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - Young business professionals can sometimes run into the problem of not having enough contacts within their network.
To advance professionally, a network can help move 20- and 30-somethings ahead in their career.
The Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce recently helped in filling that void with the creation of the Bakersfield Young Professionals.
According to its website, the BYP is "driven by local professionals between the ages of 21 and 35 who are the future of the greater Bakersfield area."
On Thursday morning, BYP Vice Chair Lauren Smoot joined Eyewitness News to discuss the group and Thursday night's "Pub Club" event at Lengthwise.
