Bakersfield Black American History parade Saturday

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Bakersfield Black American History parade will be held downtown Saturday.

The event starts at 10 a.m. at the corner of V and 21st streets.

Actor Lamont A. Coleman, who appears regularly on OWN Network's "The Haves and the Have Nots," will serve as grand marshal of the parade.

Coleman has family in Kern County, and has participated in the annual parade for several years.

He is an award-winning filmmaker and CEO of Los Angeles-based Biblical Films. His latest feature film, "In Da Cut," won Best Religious Film at the 2014 San Diego Black Film Festival.
