I was born in Decatur, Ill., and was raised in the small berg of Arthur, Ill., where the Amish outnumber the town's residents two to one. In fact, I have 54 first cousins who are Amish.

Knowing at an early age that I wanted to go some place warm, I left for the University of Alabama following high school graduation. I was prepared for the broadcasting school, but not the humidity. Somehow, I managed to survive the swelter of Dixie and left with a degree in broadcast journalism.

I joined the Eyewitness News team in January 2013, having lived in Los Angeles for the past five years reporting for various media outlets, performing musically and theatrically and working as a youth director for junior high and high school students.

I am the son of a conservative animal lover and a blue-collar former Amish woodworker, which culminates into an overly optimistic, socially outgoing and self-motivated individual. Please feel free to message me on Facebook or say hello if you see me around town! I enjoy meeting new people as much as I do searching for the next big story.
