I have been a sportscaster since 1983, the past 22 years with KBAK-TV here in Bakersfield. I can honestly say I am blessed to have a job which I have a passion for, and look forward to each and every day. In particular, local sports which is something ESPN and other national outlets cannot replicate. Local sports is our lifeline. I love to watch people compete, to see athletes show their true emotions in both victory and defeat. Working in Bakersfield has been a blessing as well, as I can call many of the coaches and athletes I cover friends.

I started my broadcast career in Billings, Montana. One year later, I was in Greenville, North Carolina before arriving in Bakersfield in 1987. Upon my arrival we kicked off our first season of Hometown Sports. My first impression was Bakersfield was such a great football town, and a place where our schools are in such close proximity to each other, sharing the same streets, shopping the same malls, that it would be a natural to have a show to document each season.

My time away from work is spent with my family, my wife Shauna, and my son Kyle. They are not only inspirations in my life, but two people who have made sacrifices along the way since this is not a 9 to 5 job. In addition to my wife and son, I recently became a grandfather when my stepdaughter Sherah (and her husband Nate) had a baby boy by the name of Ryker. Our family attends church at the First Assembly of God on California Avenue.
