Being a part of the Eyewitness News team has been an incredible opportunity for me. I believe that this world needs more good journalists and I am working among some of the best in the business. I love reporting on stories that make a difference to the community and I believe every story does just that. It's my job to bring Bakersfield and the surrounding areas stories that are happening, whether they are good or bad. Knowledge is power and the more our community knows the more powerful and influential we can be.

I was born and raised up North in Chico California. I was president of 4-H and raised pigs, was a cheerleader, played softball and sang and performed all over the place. After high school, I attended Arizona State and studied vocal performance. But I wanted to do something more and was always interested in journalism, so I transferred to Cal State Northridge and graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism in 2005. After graduating college I took my first network job in Idaho where I worked as a reporter/ anchor/ weather forecaster, and then went on to work at a station in Salt Lake City, Utah. I decided to take a year off from the business and worked in the corporate world in Denver, Colorado, but the news business never left my heart. Having that time away and seeing the world from a perspective outside of a reporters view made me even more passionate about my work and being the best reporter I can possibly be.

When I am not reporting I still love to meet people and talk about their stories. I also love spending time with my better half Shane. We can't get enough movies and great T.V. shows like The First 48, Dog the Bounty Hunter and The Office. We also enjoy our Lutheran religion and our Scandinavian Heritage. Spending time with friends and family is also very important to us. We miss our best friends and family back in Denver but are looking forward to meeting new friends here in Bakersfield.

You can watch my reports at 5, 5:30, 6, 10 and 11 p.m. weeknights. If you have a story you would like to share with me please e-mail me at the link below or call me at (661) 632-6260 ex. 279.
