Since June of 2004 I've called Eyewitness News and Bakersfield my home. Working as the morning weathercaster I now know what it means to get up early. 2:30 every morning was hard to get use to, but I'm up and ready to give you the forecast you need. Whether it is hot or cold, school fog delays or figuring out what you need to wear I love being a part of your day. I've always tried forecasting the weather since I saw my first thunderstorm growing up in Phoenix, AZ. Although there are few in Kern County, the Tule fog and mountain snowfall are always exciting for me to see. It beats the everyday conditions of sunny, dry and hot weather I grew up with. Sure, it gets hot here, but nothing like the 118 degree days back home. Besides forecasting, interacting with people across town on a "live weather remote" or visiting schools with my Weather Road Show program has been a blast. I love teaching students about weather. And hey, isn't everyone a student at some level.

I grew up in northwest Phoenix with my twin brother Joshua, little (taller) brother Phillip and my parents, Dad and Mom. After THREE great years of junior college (just kidding of course) and two and a half years at Arizona State University I finally received my Broadcasting degree from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism. In fact, two weeks before I walked down the aisle to obtain my diploma I got my first broadcasting job as the evening weathercaster for KSWT CBS in Yuma, Arizona. Though I never walked down the aisle, I pursued my dreams as a weathercaster ever since. Less than a year in Yuma I found myself in Bakersfield. Early in 2009 I will have received my NWA Seal of Approval in broadcast meteorology. That hasn't been all of my pursuits. Since I could remember I always wanted to live in California, on the beach and marry a blond California girl. So I got two out of three. I met my beautiful wife, Mindy, at church one Sunday night and haven't kept my eyes off her. She's been a huge influence in my life. Helping me drop 40 lbs in our first year of marriage and letting me know my receding hair-line is OK.

Playing guitar and writing worship music I love to do in my spare time. If you can't find me at church when I'm not at work I'll either be at the gym, watching my favorite TV shows (Lost, 24 and Psych) or exploring one of my new hobbies, hiking. My wife and I recently hiked the John Muir Trail up and over Mt. Whitney for eight days. Something I highly suggest if you have the time.

So if you're up early each weekday morning don't forget to watch my morning weather forecasts. I'm always on from 5-7 a.m. on CBS 29 and from 7-9 a.m. on FOX 58. You can also watch me at Noon on CBS 29 each weekday while you have lunch. You can contact me with an e-mail using the link below.
