BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A big rig crash Thursday morning on Highway 58 blocked westbound traffic from Tehachapi to Bakersfield.

The crash between a pickup and the semitruck was reported around 6 a.m. near Keene and kept lanes closed for roughly six hours. The big rig overturned.

The pickup driver suffered major injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol. The big rig driver suffered minor injuries, the CHP said.

The CHP hasn't said what caused the crash.

In an unrelated incident, a semitruck overturned on southbound Interstate 5 near Gorman on Thursday morning, blocking two of three lanes. The diver wasn't injured, and no other vehicles appear to be involved. The CHP didn't release a cause for that crash.

I-5 has since reopened.
