Free concerts announced for 2013 Kern County Fair

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The entertainment lineup for the 2013 Kern County Fair was announced Monday and will kick off Sept. 18 with Uncle Cracker and end Sept. 29  with Banda la Costena.

Visitors will have a wide variety of free shows, exhibits and attractions with the price of admission, including 12 nights of free concerts on the Budweiser Pavillion.

"We are thrilled with this year's line-up," said CEO Mike Olcott, "and think fairgoers will have a great time."

Night two of the fair will feature REO Speedwagon. Disney Star Zendaya will take the stage Friday, Sept. 20. Multi-platinum country artist Jo Dee Messina will perform Saturday night, followed by Starship featuring Mickey Thomas on the first Sunday.

Los Lobos will spice up the stage Monday, Sept. 23. Then it's The Four Tops on Tuesday, followed by Dustin Lynch along with Lucky Ned Pepper, which is made up of two former members of the Smokin' Armadillos - Josh Graham and Rick Russell.

Christian alternative rockers Kutless will take the stage Thursday, Sept. 26. While the final Friday of the fair will feature Rolling Stones tribute band the Hollywood Stones. Country act Lonestar will perform Saturday night, and the final day of the fair will feature Banda la Costen with special guest Ana Victoria.
