Parents upset over school district’s plan to change boundaries
BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Pam Riggio believes in the quality of education in the Panama-Buena Vista Union School District.

“They have a very good educational staff, the teachers are very important to me.” Riggio said.

Monday brought about less than stellar news, with parents hearing that the district has plans to change the boundaries of Old River Elementary, the school Riggio's children attend.

Riggio learned her children will now journey north to the Leo B. Hart Elementary.

Beyond a new environment, she worries the move will have some other side effects on her three children.

“They have established relationships, and it’s important to us they have a stable environment to continue their education in," the mother said.

Tuesday afternoon, assistant superintendent Gerri Kincaid acknowledged the moves are tough but necessary.
