Baby's death ruled a homicide

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Nov. 30 death of a 7-month-old girl in southwest Bakersfield has been ruled a homicide by the Kern County coroner's office.

Eilena Roberts was taken to Mercy Southwest hospital after being found unresponsive at her home in the 3100 block of Stine Road.

According to a news release from the coroner's office, she was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

It was later determined that blunt-force injuries caused her death.

The case is being investigated by Bakersfield police. Sgt. Joe Grubbs said Thursday morning that no arrests have been made.
