Bakersfield police announce a reward for information in the shooting of a man in his work truck on Dec. 17, 2013, near East Belle Terrace Park.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and criminal complaint for the person or persons responsible for shooting an elderly man in his work truck on December 17, 2013 in the 800 block of Citadel.

Bakersfield police said in a news release that the victim was shot in the head for unknown reasons and is still recovering at an area hospital.

Officers were asked to check on the man, who was believed to have been sleeping inside the work truck at East Belle Terrace Park. But he had actually been shot in the head.
