Man arrested on suspicion of shotgun murder

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 53-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting another man to death.

The shooting occurred around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday on the 9000 block of Opal Street. Dante Keith Breeding, 35, died at the scene from a shotgun wound, the coroner's office said Thursday.

Gerald Harris was arrested and booked into county jail on suspicion of homicide, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

The sheriff's office hasn't said what led to the shooting or how the shooting unfolded.
