Fire breaks out at auto repair shop

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — An auto repair shop caught fire Tuesday on the 3900 block of South Chester Avenue.

City firefighters had the flames out within 15 minutes at Kaos Automotive.

The cause of the fire was steel cutting equipment operating adjacent to nearby combustibles, the fire department said.

The shop sustained about $55,000 in damage, and an adjacent building sustained about $10,000 in damage, according to the department.
