Clinic offers low-cost shots, licensing for Bakersfield pets

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The city Animal Control Division will be offering low-cost rabies vaccinations and licensing for residents' pets 8-11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, at Virginia Avenue Park, 2022 Virginia Ave.

People will also have the opportunity to have their pets implanted with free microchips if their pets are licensed, according to a police department news release. Typically, microchipped pets are not taken to the shelter, police said. Instead, they are returned home.
