BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Some McKee Middle School students complained of pain after their bus crashed with a car Friday morning.

The school bus sustained front-end damage after the California Highway Patrol said a car pulled in front of it on South Union Avenue. The bus was going 45 mph at the time.

Seven of the 65 students on the bus were taken to a hospital after they reportedly hit their heads or faces on seats during the impact.

The car's driver and passenger suffered moderate injuries, the CHP said.
