Eyewitness News and community partners gather Friday morning, March 15, 2013, at Three Way Chevrolet in the Bakersfield Auto Mall for the launch event of the TXT L8R campaign, which seeks to save lives by stopping cellphone texting and other distractions behind the wheel.
Eyewitness News and BakersfieldNow.com have partnered with Three Way Chevrolet, Dignity Health and local first responders to launch a community-wide campaign called TXT L8R.

In cooperation with our TXT L8R sponsors, California Highway Patrol, Bakersfield police and fire departments, as well as the Kern County Fire Department, we will use the combined platforms of television, Web, mobile, social media and community events to raise awareness in Kern County about the dangers of distracted driving.
