BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The death of an infant girl found dead in an Oildale trash dumpster last summer has been ruled a homicide, according to a new coroner's report.

The baby, who was never identified, died of "blunt force trauma, thermal burns and carboxyhemoglobin intoxication," the report stated.

She was found in June in a trash dumpster on the 500 block of Beardsley Avenue.

The child, who was named Gabriella by a sheriff's deputy, was buried Sept. 28 in the Garden of Innocence at Union Cemetery. The burial was part of a special ceremony to honor abandoned babies.
