BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man who allegedly robbed a Chase bank in Oildale was arrested after a late-night chase with the sheriff's office.

A deputy tried conducting a traffic stop around 10:45 p.m. Tuesday in the area of Lincoln Avenue and California Street in Oildale, but the driver wouldn't stop. The driver ran stop signs and stop lights before crashing into a power pole.

Andrew Craig Morgan, 28, ran from the wrecked car and fought with deputies before he was successfully taken into custody, the sheriff's office said.

A warrant had been issued for Morgan's arrest for the Jan. 23 bank robbery. He was also arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading and resisting arrest.
