BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A man who reportedly fired a shotgun inside his home was arrested early Sunday after a sheriff's SWAT call-out.
The incident in the 3200 block of Chuckwagon Street, off Meacham and Jewetta, started around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
A sheriff's spokesman said deputies were told 30-year-old Ronnie Fangmeyer fired his shotgun toward one of several people in the home during an argument. They were all able to get out safely, along with a 3-year-old child.
Deputies tried to call Fangmeyer out of the home several times with no success. Because it was believed he had barricaded himself inside, the SWAT team was called out. Fangmeyer was eventually arrested and faces charges of assault and child endangerment.
A search of court records showed Fangmeyer has been arrested twice on alcohol related charges. Once in 2009 for misdemeanor driving under the influence and in 2011 for being drunk in public.
