Police urge caution around vacant homes after a report of sexual assault

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) - A report of an attempted rape at a vacant northwest home has police reminding people to use caution around vacant properties.

Police were called early Tuesday afternoon to the 10000 block of Efada Drive after a woman was flagged down by another woman in the area who told her she had been sexually assaulted while looking at property.

Investigators said they found evidence of sexual activity inside the home, but the victim had left the area telling the woman who called police that she was going to find her attacker.

A release Wednesday from the Bakersfield Police Department called for the possible victim to come forward and report the crime.
