BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Northbound Interstate 5 reopened just after 2 p.m. Wednesday following a deadly crash that left traffic backed up around Stockdale Highway.

One person was confirmed dead, with others injured in the single-vehicle rollover crash. The car came to a rest on its wheels.

The California Highway Patrol hasn't released any information on how the afternoon crash occurred. The names of those involved were withheld.

For around an hour, northbound lanes of I-5 were blocked, and traffic was creeping through on the shoulder.
