Carjacking suspect arrested after driving 100 mph

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly pushing a woman during a carjacking and then driving her car 100 mph in the north part of the city.

The suspect, 30-year-old Steve Stancil, was arrested in the area of Norris and Coffee roads following a chase with Kern County deputies. Stancil was later connected to the carjacking off Knudsen, during which he allegedly assaulted a woman at her backyard carport.

The woman was not injured during the alleged carjacking.
