DELANO, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The search is still underway for a woman who has been missing since last week.

Erika Padron Lango, 26, was last seen Oct. 9. Her husband, Julio Lango, told police that she walked to a friend's house around 10 p.m. that night, but she never arrived.

The husband's SUV was seized by police after family members reported seeing dark stains inside it, according to police Sgt. Peter Lopez.

Kern County court records show Julio Lango was arrested last month on misdemeanor charges of assault and battery on a spouse. His next court date on those charges is Oct. 23 for a pretrial conference.

Police have only said that they are investigating a missing-person case.
