Delano prison to 'Adopt-a-Child'

The staff at North Kern State Prison is trying to spread some holiday cheer to needy children enrolled in the Delano Association for the Developmentally Disabled (DADD), Infant Development Program.

Staff will be delivering holiday gifts to some of the area's most strapped families.

Prison staff will also be assisting adult clients enrolled in a DADD adult program. Those disabled range in ages from 27-86, many of which no longer have the support of their own families.

North Kern State Prison has a population of approximately 5,500 inmates. Questions about this event should be directed to Officer Patrice Davis at (661) 721-2345 extension 5006.
