Eyewitness News back-to-school drive Aug. 7

Eyewitness News is teaming up with the Women's Leadership Council of the United Way of Kern County to help local kids start the upcoming school year.

We know the importance of educating our kids for the future, and we appreciate the dedication of our local teachers, who often provide their own supplies out of their own pockets.

On Wednesday, Aug. 7, join Eyewitness News Mornings at our studio, and bring donations to kids in need.

Reporter Josh Helmuth will be "On the Job," collecting your donations from 5-9 a.m.

You can find us at 1901 Westwind Drive. We're just west of Jim Burke Ford in central Bakersfield.

All school supplies are welcome, including backpacks, pens, pencils, crayons, glue sticks, scissors, paper, folders and more.

The supplies will be trucked to the Women's Leadership Council of the United Way of Kern County for distribution to local schools.
